This is an Infrastructure Engineer position working with a variety of technologies as listed below. The successful candidate will require knowledge of system features and internals and the ability to communicate that knowledge to peers and managed service providers. For operating systems and middleware, this includes the ability to install, configure, and customize to a high degree. Candidates are expected to understand operating system or middleware internals and pass along that knowledge to others. Strong system administration skills are expected.

This position takes the lead on projects with only vendor support and architecture guidance. The ability to organize and manage tasks is important. Heavy use of scripting with commands, DataPower and IBM MQ experience is required.

This position is responsible for overall infrastructure systems design as part of the Infrastructure team. The Infrastructure Engineer must optimize application deployments with limited system resources, particularly in shared environments. Documentation must be written and given to a support vendor for implementation. Communications skills are crucial in this situation.

The Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for ongoing system maintenance including operating system patches, middleware patches, storage integration, network communication to the server, application startup and shutdown automation, backup and recovery, and disaster recovery.

Candidates MUST HAVE experience with one or more of the following technologies:
IBM MQ (Preferred)
DataPower (Preferred)
IBM WebSphere Application Server setup, configuration, and deployment (Preferred)
VMWare ESX and vCenter Server installation and ongoing administration
Red Hat Linux kickstart installation and administration with strong shell scripting
Microsoft Windows Server installation and ongoing administration

Experience in the required areas should include installation, configuration, patching, backup and recovery, ongoing incident and problem management, security administration, performance tuning, and system maintenance within that area of expertise. Must be able to perform advanced administration tasks with minimal supervision. Engineers work on a daily basis in our development environment. Responsible for documentation and scripting used by the managed service provider for implementation.

Preferred candidates will have experience in several of the following technologies:
HP-UX
F5 BigIP appliances
IBM Datapower appliances
Brocade SAN switches and software
Cisco network routers, switches, firewalls, and software
HP blade servers (C-class)
EMC hardware (CLARiiON, DMX, Celerra, VNX, VMAX) and software (PowerPath, ECC)
Citrix remote desktop services

Experience in the following tasks is helpful:
Shell and/or Jython scripting
Powershell scripting
Firewall configuration
Storage management and tuning
Load balancing of Web sites and Web services
Server clustering and failover
Disaster Recovery design and processes
Java programming / development
