I have the following need for a Microsoft Product Specialist for Ohio. Please read the requirement carefully. Description:
In the DODD environment the product specialist will work with a diverse yet integrated stack of primarily Microsoft products. This position will be responsible for development and for functioning as the Technical SME on an enterprise-wide system.

The Product Specialist at DODD will work on a variety of tasks in support of DODD mission critical applications. These tasks will include working with the assigned DODD team leader as one of the primary support resource for issues that arise with any of DOD Internet based applications. In this role the incumbent will need to have knowledge of standard programming platforms and development tools such as VSTS 2012, VB .NET/C# and SharePoint.

Primarily the incumbent will work on hands on application development and serve as a technical lead for development staff as assigned. The incumbent will develop the following skills on the job including understanding of the DODD environments (Pre-prod and production) and will understand DODD AGILE practices and code migration procedures as they apply to DODD.

In the application space that would include VB .Net .NET framework 3.5 and higher, MVC as well as traditional .NET, N-tier applications, SharePoint, TFS to include TFS administration and VSTS; In the security space some knowledge of ADFS, FIM, and other Microsoft security tools is helpful; some infrastructure background would be helpful as well. DODD uses an F5 load balancer as well. Ability to be conversant in session management and work with infrastructure staff in this space would be a plus.

Secondary expectations of the incumbent will be knowledge of TFS in order to interact with DOD TFS code administration server. As a lead the incumbent could assist in development of code builds, assisting developers with code builds and providing guidance on branching, merging and shelving strategies implicit in TFS. As a lead the incumbent may interact with the DODD infrastructure team to troubleshoot application support and new development issues related to code deployments and implementations. Specifically this could involve working with infrastructure staff when application issues arise related to use of the agencies F5 load balancer. The incumbent will also interact with the DODD security team in support of the continued role out and deployment of the new DODD security platform for applications that includes components related to the following Microsoft technologies (ADFS, FIM and UAG).
The Product Specialist requires significant to expert experience and skills in the technologies listed above. The Product Specialist will usually also have significant experience in the operating environment (windows server))on which the development platform and associated applications are hosted. If the product is one that was internally developed, the supporting PS should also have most of the skills of a Programmer. The Product Specialist is responsible for collaborating with Technical Architecture Specialist, System Specialists, Programmers and vendors to ensure and enhance the use of the product and effect migration to new versions of a product.

The Build/Release Master will be responsible for enforcing policies regarding build and test practices, such as the Methods and Procedures for deployment of new features are included with the final code drop, and that test cases required for automation are delivered before the initial code drop. The Build/Release Master will be responsible for delivering the completed SMOP (step by step deployment plan) to the operations team. They will also be responsible to send communications (release notes) when a new build is delivered to any environment.

The Build/Release Master will be actively performing day to day build and release activities 70-80% of the time and Design, Planning and Engineering release tools and processes 30-80% of the time. In certain situations they may be required to assist with an overnight deployment although that is not a planned function for this role.

Under direction of the Manager of Application Development the Senior Engineer/Architect will participate in process discussions. They will be the authority regarding branching, merging, shelving, building, etc. and will train and guide development resources. This role is one of the most critical and challenging roles on the MyAccount team, and requires an expert in this area of expertise.


Core Responsibilities:
· Responsible for creating the plan to evolve our build process to continuous integration with build automation.

· Strict attention to detail will be required to ensure software version control is executed and maintained across multiple concurrent release streams.

· Day to day administration of TFS system in support of various project development teams

· Maintain automated builds and continuous integration scripts

· Ensure system integrity and enforce software version control policies and procedures

Project Overview:
Deploy an Oracle Meter Data Management System (MDMS v2.x) to manage smart meter events, reads, and metadata required to support such business functions as validation, estimation, and editing of reads, billing determinant creation, meter event executions while minimizing the custom configuration of the MDMS product.

Role Overview:
Participate in the definition, design, and documentation of technical environments for the IBM Websphere platform. Develop and maintain build processes for Dev/Test/Prod environments utilizing Microsoft TFS Repository services, and assist with development of architectural standards for developers. Participate in the development of operations architecture to support production monitoring of platform performance, and error & exception logging. Candidate should have the ability to communicate platform configuration requirements to client shared services teams and work with other technical resources to resolve platform issues (ex. performance, configuration).

Candidate will also need to perform other duties as part of overall technical architecture team, such as supporting code migrations during Assembly, Integration, Performance, and Operational Readiness Testing. Post go-live, the candidate will also need to support production operations and transition knowledge to an operations maintenance team.
